Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 5, 2026

Parqlab is built local-first: the app processes your data on your machine and sends us nothing about it. This policy describes the little we do process — essentially your email and license activity — and your rights over it. Data controller: ELFA LABS LLC, 30 N Gould St Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA.

1. What the desktop app does NOT collect

  • Your data files (Parquet, CSV…) are read locally and never uploaded to us.
  • Cloud storage connections (S3, R2, MinIO, GCS, Azure) go directly from your machine to your provider; credentials are stored in your operating system's keychain, not on our servers.
  • No analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting is sent by the app.

2. What we process, and why

When you buy and activate a license, we process the minimum needed to operate it:

  • Purchase: your email address and payment metadata (handled by Stripe — we never see card numbers). Legal basis: performance of a contract.
  • License activation: your license key, a one-way HASHED device fingerprint (we cannot identify your machine from it), a device name you can read in the app (e.g. “MacBook Pro”), operating system and app version. Legal basis: performance of a contract and fraud prevention.
  • License emails: your email address is shared with Resend, our email provider, to deliver your key. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
  • Support: whatever you include in an email to support@parqlab.app. Legal basis: legitimate interest in helping you.

We log license operations (activation, validation, deactivation, errors) with timestamps to operate the 3-device limit and detect abuse. Logs are pruned automatically.

3. What we never do

  • We do not sell or rent your personal data.
  • We do not use your data for advertising.
  • We do not track you across other websites.

4. Processors and hosting

  • Stripe (payments) — stripe.com/privacy
  • Resend (transactional email) — resend.com/legal/privacy-policy
  • Cloudflare (website, license API and database hosting) — cloudflare.com/privacypolicy

These providers process data on our behalf under their own compliance programs (including GDPR data processing terms).

5. Retention

License records (email, key, activation history) are kept for as long as your lifetime license exists, since they are what makes it work. Operational logs are automatically pruned. If you request deletion of your account data, we will delete it — note that this permanently disables the associated license.

6. Cookies

The public website uses no tracking cookies. A single httpOnly session cookie is used on the /admin area, which is only accessible to our staff. Stripe may set cookies on its own checkout pages.

7. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g. GDPR, CCPA), you may have rights of access, rectification, deletion, portability and objection. Write to support@parqlab.app and we will respond within 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Changes

We will post any changes to this policy on this page with an updated date. If a change meaningfully reduces your privacy, we will notify license holders by email first.
